Chief Strategy Officer | SmartToken
Matthew Sweezy, formerly an exec with Salesforce, is a prominent figure in the Web3 domain, known for his innovative approach to digital ownership. As a co-founder of Salesforce's Web3 Studio, he played a pivotal role in guiding the leading cloud-software company into the realm of Web3, particularly during the NFT boom of 2021. His current focus is on the development and promotion of smart tokens, specifically the ERC-5169 token standard, which he views as a significant advancement beyond traditional non-fungible tokens (NFTs).
Sweezy's journey into Salesforce came through the acquisition of Pardot, a marketing technology firm where he led research and education initiatives. At Salesforce, he established himself as a thought leader, contributing significantly to the company's Futures LAB think tank, where he explored new technological possibilities and implementations.
In his latest venture, Sweezy has joined Smart Token Labs as the chief strategy officer, aiming to integrate Ethereum-based smart tokens into the broader Web3 ecosystem. Smart tokens, or ERC-5169 tokens, are unique digital assets that amalgamate the properties of NFTs and smart contracts. Unlike standard NFTs, which typically represent digital asset ownership and use ERC-721 and ERC-1155 standards, smart tokens are designed to execute predetermined tasks. This capability allows for autonomous interactions with other wallets and transactions on behalf of users, offering a dynamic and interactive experience applicable across various industries.
